I unreservedly recommend Kim Arenas as listing agent for someone selling a high-end home. I am not a real estate professional, but I have engaged in over a dozen real estate transactions over the years, and worked with many realtors. While I have known Kim personally for several years, I had not worked professionally with her until recently. Together we worked on a fairly complicated transaction involving a premium single family home. She was indefatigable in seeing the transaction through to closing.
On a personal level I know Kim as a woman of high energy, high integrity, and a buoyant personality. But until recently I did not really know Kim as a professional. Having worked through two recent transactions, I can attest that her market knowledge, enthusiasm, honesty and – perhaps most importantly – tenacity make her an excellent choice for a realtor.
I work in finance and am constantly working on transactions large and small. Of course my deals are of a very different nature. But in evaluating people I have a simple metric that I use, normally keeping it to myself. I divide the world of professionals I deal with into “closers” and everybody else. I think that after 25 years in finance I can identify such people. The proof is in the closing. There are always 10 reasons why a transaction will fail. Some people manage to tackle obstacle after obstacle until the deal is done and the checks are cleared. Kim is such a person. I recognize in her that tenaciousness that leads to success. We worked with Kim in 2012 to handle the rental of our home in Rye. I found out in April 2012 that I was being relocated for work. Our home was rented within a few short months. We could not have done it without Kim and Dru. They were an excellent team.

We are writing in praise of the exceptional job done by Kim Arenas of Houlihan Lawrence when she was the agent for the sale of our home in the spring of 2013. Kim's greatest strength is her perseverance. She first impressed us when we were interviewing different agents. She was very persistent and eventually won our listing after a thorough and extremely professional presentation. This thoroughness an professionalism exemplified every dealing we had f from the time we listed until our closing. She also persevered in finding a buyer for our home. After a couple showed interest in making an offer, she did not accept their agent's answer when he told her they had decided to buy elsewhere. She educated the out-of-area agent (and the couple) on why our house was a better fit for them, and didn't stop pursuing the sale until it was complete. This couple would never had been interested in our house had Kim not initially recognized who our market would be and had us tailor our home to fit those needs. She personally prepared it for every showing, having already staged, professionally photographed and videoed our entire one acre property. We are certain that because of Kim's expertise our house sold quickly and we received a very good price. We subsequently used her to purchase the home we now own, and will definitely use her again should the need arise (which we can't imagine happening any time soon.) Kim Arenas has our whole hearted recommendation, and our gratitude.

I am writing to highly recommend Kim Arenas as either a listing agent or buyer's agent. I have known Kim for over 5 years and value her as a business person and a friend.
Kim assisted us with several big decisions regarding our two houses. Initially, we just asked Kim to help us do some market research on the value of our house as we were planning a major renovation. Although it wasn't a sales transaction, Kim was very eager to show us homes in Rye that would be comparable to our house in its current state and once the renovations were complete. Kim really impressed me because she was willing to spend time with us even though we were not considering buying or selling.
The day we were to sign the contract with the builder to renovate our previous house, our current house came on the market. Kim was sending us electronic listings and we thought the house looked like a great value.
Although the house would be a sales transaction for Kim, she was not pushy or anxious for us to buy instead of renovate. She wanted the best for us in the long term. When we decided to put an offer in on our current house Kim gave us great market data in order to make an informed decision. She also did market research on the wet lands around the house and the title history. We offered below the asking price and negotiated quickly with the seller and agreed on a price within a week.
Kim was very helpful in getting the inspection done within days and convincing the selling agent to cancel the open house that week end. We are very happy with our house and believe Kim helped us get an amazing value.
Once we decided to buy our current house instead of renovate Kim helped us list our previous house for rent. Again, although Kim would have made a much bigger commission if we sold the house she wanted the best for our family and supported our decision to rent it out.
Kim gave us the same amount of support and attention for our rental listing as she would have if it was a sale. Kim came over and gave us advice about staging the house. She held an open house with other agents the day the listing came on the market. Kim showed the house 14 times in one weekend and we received 4 offers several above our asking rent within 2 days of listing. We rented the house to lovely family that signed a 2 year lease with a third year option. The rent was 16% above our asking rent. We could not ask for better tenants as they care for our house as if it was their own.
I have recommended Kim to several friends. We all agree she is a great person to have on your side and always keeps the best interest of her clients in the fore front of her mind.
